Survivor-centred support in Uganda

HEALING

Supporting recovery after abuse.

Healing after sexual violence doesn’t just happen with time. People need to feel safe. They need care, and support that meets them where they are.

We walk alongside survivors, offering counselling, covering emergency medical care, and, when needed, providing a safe place to stay, so no one has to face the aftermath on their own.

WHY HEALING MATTERS

What happens after abuse is just as critical.

For many survivors, what happened doesn’t just end there. It carries into their health, their sense of safety, their confidence—into everyday life in ways that are hard to shake.

Without support, it can get heavier over time. Physically, emotionally, even socially. Healing doesn’t just happen on its own—it needs care and support.

Our focus is making sure survivors can reach that support early, safely, and without unnecessary barriers.

Healing is not automatic. Survivors need timely, dignified support.

HOW IT WORKS

We support survivors through care, safety, and continuity.

We take time to understand what each survivor needs, and respond in a way that keeps their safety and dignity at the centre.

Support isn’t offered in pieces. We bring together counselling, emergency medical care, and safe shelter where needed—so they aren’t left trying to figure things out on their own.
