Our Vision
Totya Platform was founded in 2018 with the vision for a community where every individual has a right to a fair and just life, free from sexual violence traumas, it was founded in response to evidence by UNICEF¹ that in Uganda 1 in 4 Girls and 1 in 10 Boys aged 13 – 17 years had reported being sexually abused in 2017, Janet Aguti who founded the organisation had also been sexually abused as a child.
Our Mission
We now work to empower survivors of sexual violence to freely and openly speak about their experience through safe spaces. Hence promoting their growth in communities and their mental, social-cultural and economic status.
