Media Outreach

This outreach strategy utilises the extensive reach of local radio stations (ebizindaalo/mukalakasa) and the increasing influence of social media to spread important information about sexual violence. Through regular radio broadcasts, we share messages that educate the public about what constitutes sexual violence, its harmful effects, and how individuals can seek help or report incidents. These radio messages are designed to be accessible and engaging, ensuring they resonate with a broad audience, especially in rural areas where radio remains a primary source of information.

We also utilise platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram to engage a younger, tech-savvy audience. Through these channels, we share informative posts, survivor stories, and educational content to raise awareness and encourage dialogue about sexual violence. Social media also allows for interactive engagement, enabling followers to ask questions, share their thoughts, and participate in online campaigns. This dual approach of using both traditional and digital media ensures that the message reaches a diverse audience, amplifying its impact across different demographics.
